I had read this book years ago, but couldn’t remember the
ending, so I read it again. I never skip to the end; I don’t want to miss
anything in between. Since this is listed as a series, I can understand why he
left the plot open. However, I can’t find any other books in this series, which
is disappointing.
I liked the story; it was believable for a dystopia, and it
kept you reading to see what happened in the end, and even made you contemplate
what did happen in an if-this-were-real way. If there were another book in this
series, I wouldn’t be disappointed. Since I can’t find one, though, I am left
without an ending, or should I say a more exciting ending.
The characters were interesting, and they attached to you
like you really knew them and connected to their emotions and plight. I think
this story could have been developed into a gripping saga, but I guess the
author had better plans. This shouldn’t stop you from reading it, though. What
happened in this book could, and somewhat twisted, have happened in real life.
If you want an adventure into a dystopian world with many events and thoughts
that hit home, then read the book. The author was not afraid to go into the
minds of creators, good and bad.
