This story is a creative, interesting concept from start to finish and makes you want to read the next book in this series.
The lead character, Mara (also known as Elara), discovers things she never thought existed, and it throws her for a loop intellectually and emotionally. The author's emotional writing keeps you immersed and looking for answers right along with the characters. The intellectual and creative writing entertains you throughout. Win, win.
I enjoyed this book, and I am anticipating the second one as well. If you enjoy sci-fi that grabs you from the start, you will appreciate this book, and most likely the whole series. I gave this 5 out of 5 stars.
